Frequently Asked Questions

Practical answers about delivery enquiries, quotations, booking confirmation, parcel preparation, collection arrangements and what to do if a shipment does not go as expected.

Distribution Management Solutions Limited provides courier, parcel delivery and business distribution services, subject to the requirements and availability of each request.

The answers below provide general guidance. Your quotation, written booking confirmation and any applicable shipment-specific terms will set out the arrangements for your particular request.

01

Services

What services do you provide?

We handle enquiries for courier, parcel delivery and business distribution services. Depending on the request, this may include collection arrangements, scheduled deliveries and transport coordination for ordinary parcels, documents and general commercial goods.

The exact service must be assessed and confirmed for each shipment.

Do you deliver to every UK postcode?

Not every route or postcode can be assumed to be available. Please provide the collection and delivery postcodes so we can assess the request and confirm whether an appropriate arrangement can be made.

Do you provide same-day or guaranteed-time delivery?

These options should not be assumed to be available. Tell us your required collection and delivery dates or time window. We will confirm the available service and whether any stated timing is an estimate or a specific commitment.

Who carries my parcel?

The transport arrangement depends on the service confirmed for your shipment. Where a third-party carrier is involved, the relevant arrangement and applicable terms should be identified in your quotation or booking confirmation.

Please review the confirmation if you need to understand which party is responsible for a particular part of the transport arrangement.

02

Quotes and bookings

How do I request a delivery quotation?

Contact us with your collection and delivery postcodes, parcel quantity, approximate weight and dimensions, a description of the goods, and your preferred dates. Include any access or handling requirements that may affect the service.

We may request additional information before confirming availability or calculating the price.

What determines the price?

The price may depend on the route, parcel quantity, weight, dimensions, requested timing, handling requirements and other relevant circumstances. The applicable price and any included services will be set out in the quotation or booking confirmation.

Does submitting an enquiry confirm my booking?

No. An enquiry or request for a quotation is not itself a confirmed booking. Your shipment is confirmed only after the required booking process is completed and we expressly accept the request in writing.

Please wait for written confirmation before treating collection or delivery arrangements as final.

How long is a quotation valid?

Check the validity period stated in your quotation. If no period is specified, contact us to confirm that the price and proposed arrangements remain available before proceeding.

Can I change my shipment details after booking?

Contact us as soon as possible. We will check whether the requested change can be accommodated and whether it affects the price or arrangements. A change is not confirmed until we accept it in writing.

03

Parcels and preparation

What information should I provide about my parcel?

Please provide accurate information about:

  • the type and quantity of goods;
  • the approximate weight and dimensions;
  • the collection and delivery addresses;
  • the required dates or delivery window; and
  • any special handling or access requirements.

Accurate details help us assess whether the requested service is suitable and calculate the applicable charge.

How should I package my goods?

Goods should be packed securely and appropriately for their weight, dimensions, fragility and the agreed transport service. Packages should be closed, labelled and ready for collection.

If goods require specialist packaging or handling, tell us before booking so the requirements can be assessed.

Are there goods you cannot transport?

Some goods may be prohibited, restricted or unsuitable for a particular service. Dangerous, illegal or specially regulated goods must not be submitted without the necessary lawful arrangements and express prior acceptance.

If you are unsure whether an item can be accepted, describe it fully before confirming your booking. Additional carrier restrictions may apply.

Can you handle fragile or high-value goods?

Acceptance depends on the item, packaging, handling requirements and the available transport arrangement. Tell us about fragile or high-value goods before booking.

Do not assume that special handling or enhanced insurance is included unless it has been expressly confirmed in writing.

04

Collection and delivery

When will my parcel be collected or delivered?

The relevant dates and timing will be stated in your booking confirmation. Unless a time is expressly confirmed as a binding commitment, it should be treated as an estimate rather than a guaranteed arrival time.

What happens if nobody is available at the delivery address?

The next step depends on the confirmed delivery method and the applicable shipment arrangements. It may be necessary to obtain further instructions, arrange another attempt or consider a return.

Any additional charge must have a valid basis in the agreed terms or applicable law. Contact us promptly if you learn that the recipient will be unavailable.

Can I track my parcel online?

Tracking is available only where it is included in or confirmed for the relevant service. Check your booking confirmation or contact us with your reference to ask what shipment information is available.

What if my delivery is delayed?

Contact us with your booking reference and the relevant collection or delivery details. We will review the information available and, where appropriate, check with the carrier involved.

Delays can arise from traffic, weather, access issues and other operational circumstances. The next steps depend on the service agreed and the circumstances.

05

Payments and cancellations

When do I need to pay?

Your quotation or booking confirmation will explain the payment requirements and due date. Payment terms may vary by booking, so please check the written information supplied before proceeding.

Can I cancel a confirmed booking?

Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel. The applicable procedure, any cancellation deadline and any charge should be set out in your quotation or booking terms and remain subject to applicable law.

If a carrier has already been instructed or costs have been incurred, the consequences will depend on the agreed terms and circumstances.

How are refunds handled?

Refund eligibility depends on the service, payment arrangement, cancellation circumstances and applicable legal rights. Where a refund is due, we will confirm the amount and arrange it within the applicable legal period or any shorter period expressly agreed.

Where practicable, refunds will be made using the original payment method unless another lawful method is agreed.

06

Problems and complaints

What should I do if my parcel is lost or damaged?

Contact us as soon as reasonably practicable with your shipment reference, a description of the issue and any supporting evidence available. Photographs of the goods and packaging may help.

Where reasonably possible, retain the affected goods and packaging while the matter is reviewed. Any applicable claim procedure or notification period should also be followed.

How do I make a complaint?

Email enquiries@distributionmanagement.solutions or call +44 7572 266984. Include your booking reference, a description of the issue and the outcome you would like us to consider.

Our Complaints Policy explains how complaints are acknowledged, investigated and reviewed.

How long will a complaint take to resolve?

We aim to acknowledge complaints within three working days and provide an initial substantive response within ten working days after receiving sufficient information. More complex matters may require additional investigation, particularly where a third-party carrier is involved.

If further time is needed, we aim to explain the reason and provide an update on the expected response date. These are service targets, not a guarantee of resolution within a fixed period.

Need an answer for a specific shipment?

Send us your route, parcel details and preferred timing. We will review the information and advise whether the requested arrangement can be confirmed.
